Huang Shan Mao Feng is one of China’s most famous green teas, grown in the misty mountains of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) in Anhui Province. The name means “Yellow Mountain Fur Peak,” referring to the fine white hairs on the young buds and the shape of the finished leaves, which resemble mountain peaks. It has been produced since the late Qing Dynasty and became popular for its elegant character. The tea is typically made from one bud and one leaf, picked in early spring, and carefully pan-fired to preserve its delicate flavors. The result is a smooth, clean cup with floral notes, a hint of chestnut, and a lingering sweetness.
