Meng Ding Gan Lu, or “Sweet Dew from Meng Ding Mountain,” is one of the oldest recorded teas in China, with a history stretching back over 2,000 years to the Han Dynasty. It comes from Sichuan Province and is said to be the first place where tea was cultivated for human use. This green tea is picked early in the spring and gently pan-fired, often with a unique step where the leaves are shaped and cooled repeatedly to develop complexity. It has a light, refreshing taste with a soft sweetness, mild umami, and a cooling aftertaste that lives up to its name.
